A Walk Down Memory Lane
1999 -- After extensive work with the City of Great Falls to secure grants to fix up a formerly abandoned historic warehouse downtown, the Children's Museum of Montana moved into its former home at 22 Railroad Square.
2017 -- The Children's Museum of Montana formally began a search for a new permanent home.
2024 -- The Children's Museum of Montana decided to cease operations at 22 Railroad Square in order to focus on finding a permanent home.







1997 -- A group led by the Junior League of Great Falls formed the Children's Museum, which initially hosted pop ups around town.
2000 -- The Children's Museum of Montana began its annual fundraiser Chocolate Noir to support its services to the community.
2020 -- The Children's Museum of Montana adapted to COVID to serve the community, offering family appointment slots and enhanced cleaning.
2025 and beyond -- The Children's Museum of Montana has an exciting new chapter unfolding. Check out our event page for pop up and fundraiser information, and follow us on Facebook for more developments.
